I am just starting to play with the D370. With the monitor on it draws 500 ma , at idle with no monitor 2 ma .When it takes a pic it goes up to 900ma then settles to around 500ma and back down to 2ma when monitor turns off. Don't know what happens on refresh since I had never wired cam yet but will let you know when I do.The plug I am using for external power is a RadioShack 4.0x1.7mm Cat # 274-1532 ,2 plugs for $1.99 locally.I will repeat from someones' post before and say make sure the + is on the center post.

Now this is a rough est. For every pic taken with D370 is equal to 15 min. of battery life as compared to it at idle. I will time all my amp readings  next time but this is how I came up with this. (500ma x 4sec = 2000 units) / (2ma x 60sec. =120 units per min)=16.6 min. of use. If someone knows of a diffrent way please let me know.

Hi P55,
To test what happens during a 'refresh', just hook up your meter and press the shutter half-way (at least I think that's the way it works with the D370).

Thanks for the info,
Archilochus
