by raising their taxes to pay for more programs. Obama and Clinton on board with it too.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
The Senate was debating and voting into the night on a $3 trillion Democratic budget blueprint for 2009. The nonbinding plan envisions a balanced budget in four years and promises generous increases for many domestic programs, but achieves those goals only by assuming major tax increases when Bush's tax cuts expire.

Obama and Clinton both promise to reverse Bush's tax cuts for wealthier taxpayers, but the Democratic budget they'll be voting for would allow income tax rates to go up on individuals making as little as $31,850 and couples earning $63,700 or more.

Opponents of "pork barrel" projects expected to lose a late-night vote to ban such earmarks for a year, despite the endorsement of all three presidential candidates.

Across the Capitol, the House measure anticipates larger surpluses while allowing $683 billion worth of tax increases over five years with the expiration of Bush's tax cuts.

A Republican alternative that largely mirrored a plan by McCain to permanently extend Bush's tax cuts and eliminate the alternative minimum tax failed. It would have made room for the cuts by making big reductions in popular programs like Medicare, housing, community development and the Medicaid health care program for the poor and disabled.[/b]

and this is from Obama's own campaign website - He's no different than any other DC career politician. Say one thing, do another.

Barack Obama's Plan
Provide Middle Class Americans Tax Relief

Obama will cut income taxes by $1,000 for working families to offset the payroll tax they pay.

* Provide a Tax Cut for Working Families: Obama will restore fairness to the tax code and provide 150 million workers the tax relief they need. Obama will create a new "Making Work Pay" tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The "Making Work Pay" tax credit will completely eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.
* Simplify Tax Filings for Middle Class Americans: Obama will dramatically simplify tax filings so that millions of Americans will be able to do their taxes in less than five minutes. Obama will ensure that the IRS uses the information it already gets from banks and employers to give taxpayers the option of pre-filled tax forms to verify, sign and return. Experts estimate that the Obama proposal will save Americans up to 200 million total hours of work and aggravation and up to $2 billion in tax preparer fees.[/b]

So let's see if I have this right, if elected they ARE raising our taxes and increasing social handouts?
Why would I expect anything different?

It is unusual for them to be honest about it though.

Not really. Every speech they give starts out by saying that the low and middle income faniles of the country need a tax break and that the wealthy need to pay more. Then they go behind closed doors in the middle of the night and scheme up a tax raise for those making $30K?

I don't seem to remember learning this form of economics when I was going to school...
I was taught for every action there is an equal and opposite re action and 1+1=2 and if you don't have anything to add its still equals zero...
Get ready it's going to be a rocky flight...

No IMHO,
the liberal democrats want us to pay for those social programs that make "them feel" better.
I do not "feel" I am responsible for nor do I need to pay for those who are not willing to work or have gotten themselves into financial, personal trouble by their own actions. Just because a woman of breeding age gets pregnant and she can't afford to raise or even want that child, just because someone sneaks into our country ILLEGALLY for any reason, just because someone won't do the work the ILLEGALS will, just because someone with bad credit and no job borrows money for a house they can't afford, do I "feel" at all responsible for those peoples personal actions and paying for those social programs does not make me "feel better"... But, democrats "feel" we all are responsible for that and more...

Funny thing is, you never hear any of them, from either side, say they would be willing to cut their salary and / or pensions, lifetime healthcare, etc to help out the poor and down trodden.

So when are they just gonna come clean and start the US Dept of Butt-Wiping?? A Pre-filled in tax form? Granted the tax code is a morass of confusion and contradiction, but I'd rather fill out my own forms (well let the computer tax programs do it anyway) then to have the gov do it. Especially when the chance for an over-estimation of what I might owe them would be too great for them to pass up.

you're paying interest on debt, and the discounts foreigners insist on to take our hot checks, not the debt.

the problem is you let them steal FOR you, and surprise, surprise, now they're stealing FROM you.

that's what happens when you hire crooks and hand em your checkbook.

or did you think you were special? Crooks steal from who HAS it.. that's why they're raping the Mint..

all the distractions won't make that bottom line go away.

all the claims it was clintons fault, the dems fault, the other guy's fault.. ignores your religious right coalition, your gerrymandering karl rove, your big pharm backer, rumsfeld, your DETENTION CAMP DICK.. and the decider himself, benedict arnold part two.

every single spending bill had his signature on it.

how's the war doing? Gas staying up like it's supposed to? If it falls a little george will bomb somebody and fix it..
