digital camers and spotting scopes

Need tips on photographing thru spotting scope. I recently purchased a Nikon 4500 along with a "LE Adapter" (saw this on JHP) to mount on Swarovski 65 STS. Anyone out there had experience with this settup?? Do you manual focus camera or leave camera alone and focus scope?? Leave camera on auto-focus??
