Step back in time on Oct. 7 and learn about the lifestyles of the earliest humans to trek through the Ozarks countryside.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- On Sunday, Oct. 7, visitors to the Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Springfield Conservation Nature Center will have a chance to step back in time and learn about the lifestyles of the earliest humans to trek through the Ozarks countryside at “Primitive Skills Day.” At this free event, which is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., people will see demonstrations of flint knapping, bow and arrow construction, basket weaving, fire making and how to make cordage from native plant fibers.
