KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites youth to discover nature through a youth turkey hunt on Saturday, April 12, at sunrise in Northeast Missouri. Participants must be age 11 to 15, hunter-education certified, and attend a mandatory clinic from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on April 11 at the MDC Northeast Regional office in Kirksville. Preregistration by April 9 is required.
The clinic will consist of turkey biology, habitat management, calling, and decoying. Shotguns and ammunition will be available for youths to use on the hunt.
