Here's the deal. My son joined 4-H this year and is taking a pig to the fair. Even though he could only take one to the fair, he bought two pigs because they are supposed to eat and put on weight better which seemed to be the case. Well now we have one pig at the fairgrounds and the other is ready to go too but is here at home. I know it is not quite the same as a wild hog, but it's a damn fine looking piece of pork if anyone is interested in helping my son recoup some of his expenses and get a pile of nice pork in return. He has about $250 into the hog, feed, and supplies and the hog weighs about 250lbs. It has been fed top quality show feed the whole time and should be wonderful eating. I can deliver it to a meat locker close to Fresno if you want. If anybody is interested shoot me an e-mail with your phone #. Thanks.

The second thing I am offering is a hunt for 1 on a beautiful, sprawling .005 acre high fence ranch. This hunt is fully guided and has a guarenteed shot opportunity on a +/- 250lb. belted hog. Tree stand or spot and stalk, it's your choice. This hunt is priced amazingly low and is coincidently also only $250. Sorry, for this low, low price, food and accomodations are not included. Thanks.

I love the hunt offer! Classic.

Sounds like a good deal and good way to fill the freezer.

When I showed hogs, I always fed out an extra for our freezer. $250, can't lose on that deal.

Considering the likely duration of the hunt, I'm guessing that "food" is from a vending machine and "lodging" includes a church folding chair.

Well the hunt is over and everything went well. Thanks to everyone who was interested. This being a new operation and all, things could have been a little more organized on my end but everything turned out well in the end. I know $250 was a great deal on a hog and my son was very happy to be able to pay his expenses off so it was a win win for everybody. I'm sure next year we will be in the same situation so all of you hunters need to hone your skills between now and then. If you are lucky enough to be able to hunt this fine ranch of mine you will certainly have stories to tell. Thanks again to Jackrabbit and it was nice to meet you.

Oneshothunter-- I do run dogs but after a couple of trips around the ranch coming up empty with the dogs, I was fortunate enough to catch a little movement on the southern end of the property and got it done with the long gun. As far as the mud goes....The last time someone entered the property unarmed to tend to a feeder, they ended up with a slight injury when a large belted hog rolled over on their ankle. I just can't risk it. You understand.

bayedsolid forgot to mention -- I decided to be sure and make this a fair chase hunt. So instead of the high fence, we lowered the fence a little bit. Used copper bullets of course as this is condor range. I'll be posting the scientific data on the bullet performance in the reloading section any day now! It was a pretty scary hunt so I made sure my sidearm was locked and loaded just in case the pig charged! That pigs head is going to a deep pit cookout tomorrow! This was a great deal for me and the nephews who are going to enjoy the meat -- my wife was kinda freaked though with me butchering it in the back patio. Nothing new, she's had about 40 years of marriage now to learn to expect it, not necessarily like it, just expect it and accept it! thanx bayedsolid, your son raised a great pig there.

Speck why dont you organize a hunt at the ranch. (.005 acres) minimum of 45 to 50 hunters, like the tejon PRO.

I dunno if we could cover the area well enough, XD. That's an awful lot of ground to hunt!

$250 bucks! Thats a smoking deal compared to what I just paid for a pig at the fair in Lancaster. I paid 5 dollars a pound for a 246 pound pig! The crazy thing is all of the pigs were going for this which is good for the 4H and FFA kids. I'm not going to tell my wife because she will have my balls. Tell your son to keep up the good work. Next time you hsould ask for more.

All humor aside, it really is good to see so many jhoers supporting the 4h and ffa. Most ffa and 4hers are the future of the hunting and fishing future. And IMHO, anyone who doesn't have there kids involved in 4h or ffa should look into it. It really teaches a lot of responsibility and not to mention the money in the bank at the end of your "showing career" After 10 years of showing steers, sheep and hogs, I had close to $15k saved up when I turned 19
