Well instead of robbing someones post,I'll start my own..I haven't been on for awhile..Was an avid shed collector for years, while living in Montana and North Dakota, plus finds in Canada too.......I down size every four years or so and the cash buys me rifles, motor bikes and this go around a new gun safe. I did keep my good stuff and rare finds...I have elk, mule deer, whitetail, reindeer, moose, caribou, red stag, fallow, buffalo(old) and pronghorn...A few skulls too...The skulled elk are my brothers from his hunts in Montana(all bow kills),he gave them to me... In North Dakota where I lived, was an old buffalo range from the late 1800's to early 1900's...I used to fish that area a lot and find buffalo teeth,horns,bones..but no skulls(odd)..

Only shed I don't have is a "blacktail"...Everyone is closed mouthed in Oregon about shed hunting areas and more populated too...One way or the other I will get or find one...

wow. you find a lot of good stuff. I hope I have good luck like that this year. I just started to hunt sheds. Its fun and gets me out in the fields with my kids. Were do u sell them and how do u price them. I want to find as many as I can but maybe its good to buy a few also. Nice collection. Keep up the good work. If you ever get down here in cali, let me know and we will hit the fields.

Most buyers are known by taxidermy people and (or) gun shows....As for prices,it goes by the pound for most buyers(was $9.00 a pound(whitetail and mulie) last year),but if you have one that is unusual, they can go for bigger bucks! Some of the sheds I have are from trades I did from people around the world, all come with interesting stories too...Most That I found are Elk,moose, whitetail and mulie...Where in Cali do you live,I'm up near Salem,Oregon...Thumbs up

we are in kern county. The land I have shed hunted on and will keep looking around, is in the Tehachapi mountains. The valley is around 27k acres. There is deer and trophy elk running around. You will see all the same game that you would find on Tejon ranch.

Hey. Now you really need to come hang out. We can shed hunt and fossil hunt in the same weekend. Kern county has a cool gem and mineral society. They have dig days. I'm out to find a few meggs. Other teeth are cool but big ones are extra neat.
