I was up there about 4-5 weeks ago and the rivers were unfishable they were soooooo high and muddy. Hopefully it will be better when you go, I suspect it will still be high though. Maybe some of the feeder streams might be a better bet than the Yuba. I have only fished the river and don't know how any of the lakes are. All I can tell you is that I fish the area down river from downieville and have done pretty well. Lots of different terrain and some nice pools. There are 4 camp grounds about 12-15 miles down stream from Downieville and I usually fish the river about 2-5 miles up stream from the campground farthest upstream. Word of warning though !!!! I checked out some spots on the river and the poison oak was THICK and I don't mean Choppers thick, I mean REALLY THICK !!!!!!

e-mail me if you want any other details. I don't know the river like the back of my hand but I do know some of it.

Might be better off trolling Bullards for kokanee or going after black bass.
