I've drawn a cow in southwest Colorado with zero points once or twice, it usually takes one point for the zone I hunt. So now my dad and I put in opposite each other so one of us always has a cow tag and one always has a bull tag. Always have a great time in that state.

We do the same thing- alternate years for 2nd season. Except this year I got greedy. Thought with all the talk about guys boycotting CO cause of the gun laws, we'd be able to get drawn for first season. Ended up getting nothing. But it worked out OK, Dad got drawn for a La Panza cow tag here in CA instead. I'll go with him and take both my boys- we'll have a blast.

WOW Wish I could go this year. Still OTC Tags avail for Bull 1st rifle and cow 2nd 3rd rifle.Money is so tight I am afraid to blow it on another elk hunt. Looking forward to meeting up with ya and sharing maps. With what I know I am sure I can get you close to the movements. Patients is real important and working the winds. The big boys love the flat tops but it is too aggressive for me. Freezer is empty. Worst yet is I now have 2 empty freezers.
