Drought meat vs. Rainy meat

My pig from last year (drought) tasted somewhat muddy/gamey, while in other years (with rain, barley, etc), that unpleasant taste wasn't there.

Anyone else notice a difference, say, between 2004 and 2005?

I shot one in mid january, before any rain and it was awesome. Maybe just your location or a bad pig.

The pig I shot a few weeks ago sure was fat..
So fat, my buddy said "Good thing you shot it, or it woulda died of gout!"


It was made into some pretty tasty sausage.

I have had a couple that were taken the same day, same time, same location --- one was excellent and the other was so gamey the dog wouldn't eat it.
