Rubber Bands
A special thank you to DU member Todd Lawson of Franklin, TN, for this tip featured in 161 Waterfowling Secrets.

Stray, rattling decoy weights used to drive me crazy before I figured out a way to secure them during transport. First, go to your tire repair shop and ask for an old tire inner tube. Usually, they are glad to give them away. Next, cut the inner tube into 3/8-inch strips, resembling large rubber bands. Then, tie the rubber bands to your decoy weights. This will enable you to firmly secure weights around the heads, keels, or tails, thus reducing paint scratching and noise caused by loose weights.

Marking Enhancement Part V (Lining) - By Mike Stewart
A retriever with talent for marking fallen game must master two very important core skills. One is an astute vision of the precise location of the fall. The other is the ability to take and hold an accurate line to the fall area by the most direct, logical route. The dog's ability to arrive at the fall area rapidly and accurately encompasses three elements:
1.memory - the locations of marks
