Dusky Goose Quotas Reached on Sauvie Island Wildlife Area; Season Closes

PORTLAND – Effective immediately, the Canada Goose season in the Sauvie Island Wildlife Area will be closed for the remainder of the 2002-2003 hunting season. The closure comes after the quota of five Dusky Canada Geese was met in only three hunting days.
The closure does not affect hunting opportunities on private lands on Sauvie Island or other hunt areas in northwest Oregon, which will remain open unless county quotas are reached.
Hunters are reminded to call 1-800-708-1782 before each hunt day for updates on closures.
