I have been reading the threads regarding the hogs around East Park Reservoir. I drew the Oct 17-18th hunt. In case I dont see anything in the hunt area does anyone know of a spot or guide for the general area? Also looking for the best place to stay seems all the local campgrounds are closed.

There is a local guy who guides around there, his name is Pat Callahan 530 517-2291. He may be able to help you out.

Good Luck

Any luck? I drew the 24th-25th. Headed out Sunday to scout a little. I haven't seen shit there in two months of fishing

I'm sure there around. WU has just got the hunting rights for the property on the north end of the Lake two weeks ago and from the sounds of things from guys that have been there it has a lot of pigs going through the ranch but the majority are sleeping during the day on the Lake Land. Did see a few pigs at the south end of the Lake about three weeks ago on my way into Stonyford.

Nobody's been seeing pigs on the East Park property thus far this month. Not even any sign.

We saw 1 pig down in the closed zone on the second period... Saw him briefly the first morning, but he never came out of the closed zone. Virtually no fresh sign, and no food to keep the pigs there... I imagine they have moved off to nearby areas that might have better food value. There were quite a few nice bucks running around on the peninsula, and a number of bulls bugling over in the campground. That surprised me!

Yeah, the elk move into the campground about two days after they close it.

Remember folks, the purpose of this hunt was to help the US Bureau of Reclamation curtail the damage caused by pigs on this land. Sounds like it just might be working. Who says hunters can't help?
