just wanted to know if anyone could comment on what kind of rain fall or lack there of in eastern oregon this year?

It's been a fairly dry Spring. We have had some really good soaking rains this month. The snowpack in the high country is going fast.

Snow pack??? What snow pack??? It is dry out there on the open range...Infact Baker county is looking for federal money because there isn't enough grass out there for the cows....

The snowpack that is keeping me from getting to my firewood area. As for the grass it still looks pretty good. Come August, that's another story. Short irrigation season for me.

can anyone tell what the you would call 2 years ago--- which was when i last went--- was it a dry,ok, or wet year? and thanks for the info, just the way i like it short and sweet and to the point!!

As I recall we started 05 with better snowpack than this year but it went off pretty fast but not as fast as this year's is going. Spring 05 was also wetter. By hunting season it will probably be a lot like 05 in the woods which I would call dry.
Some of the old-timers up here are saying we will have a wetter summer than usual. When they make these kind of predictions they are right more often than not. Time will tell.
