EASTERN SIERRA QUAIL UNLIMITED SHOOT: The Eastern Sierra Chapter of Quail Unlimited will host its annual Fun Shoot and barbecue Saturday May 19, at the Hi-Sierra Gun Club in Independence. The Eastern Sierra County Chapter of Quail Unlimited has maintained water sites for quail and other wildlife throughout the Eastern Sierras earning national recognition for their effort to convert gallinaceous guzzlers to universal wildlife waters. They have also been a major partner with the BLM and USGS in sage grouse research in Inyo and Mono Counties. In addition to the shooting, the $60 entry fee includes Quail Unlimited membership, barbecue lunch, auctions, raffles, gun drawings and more.
