One of the Eastern Sierra Nevada's most storied and historic trout fisheries, Rush Creek, should and could be ranked with the Owens and East Walker rivers as the region's finest waters, but because the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power continues to balk at completing it's court-mandated restoration of the river, it is likely never to be restored.
Long-time Rush Creek advocate Dick Dahlgren is featured in the video linked below and explains the compelling case for restoration. His words and the footage of this wonderful river explain what's at stake.

I have been writing about this issue since the 1980s, seemingly saying the same things over and over again instead of reporting on what should have been a victory for anglers. This is the link to my most recent piece, that sums up what my old friend Dahlgren says in the video.

Yet, most anglers, especially fly anglers, don't realize what is happening. Your help in distributing this news far and wide to anglers is needed. Prod Cal Trout (415-392-8887) to get its head out of the sand or call your state or federals representatives, but at the very least be informed and pass this on to all your fishing friends who love the Eastern Sierra.
