Hello everybody, I've been checking out this website for a bit now and it is awesome. The best part about it is everybody seems to know everyone and goes out of their way to help others out as much as they can.

I go elk hunting in Colorado in the third season (first saturday in November). I usually draw a cow tag and fill it about every year but wanted to try for the bulls. Has anybody had any success using scents or calls? If so what kind. The rut for this area is around September I believe and is over by the time we hunt.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I hunt the 941 area. wich is black powder only. to many house around. but they want that herd gone. wich sucks yes but ok. well I've called in lots of cow elk with my call using calf calls. seems to work good for me and the price was 18-20 dollers I think at wallmart. even cames with a cassette tape theres other realy good ones on the market to. hope this helps. Thanks for the info powderbuff. I may have to see about picking one up and giving it a try for $20.
