I was thinking about trying to put together a elk hunt this year since I didn't draw anything. Has anyone ever gone up to canada to hunt elk on your own. I know outside of calgary that ther a lots of place to hunt elk but I am not sure what the rules are. Do you need a guide or can you hunt on your own. Also do you have to draw a tag or can you buy one over the counter. MAybe we can get a JHO elk , or deer, hunt going this year.
