En Route To Brysons

We're lucky it rained enough to grow, a lot of fields didn't make it this year at all. Now I can't wait until they harvest so I can see the pigs again. Suckers get in that stuff that's 4-5 feet tall and they make tunnels (the mustard in there is over 10 feet tall) - you can't see 'em you can just hear them eating. Makes finding them after the kill hard too. On the flip side, you sure can get close to them though - cause you are just as hidden as they are. You guys would probably just leap on their backs huh? I should try it on the next hunt.

Deedy, I'm waiting to see, but I may have alot of time off around the 4th. We might be up to fish around then. How's the bluegill up there? That's my wife's favorite to catch.

Scott, lots and lots of Bluegill. Plus, how romantic to bring her for the Fourth. I checked the calendar and the Fourth is in the middle of the week- shouldn't be too busy at the lakes here & I think she'll love it here if she likes to fish. The lakes are amazing, they are warm water lakes and the avg. water temp is around 70 degrees.

Finally got around to dumping some pics off the camera. Here's the accomodations. The cabins are just 15 minutes from the FHL gate and Deedy has very reasonable hunter rates.

You don't exactly rough it at Bryson.

I'm working on a few more hog pics that'll be up later.

Ahh, good old Cabin Number 5! I remember it well. I have fond memories of cool cabins, dead pigs and dead coyotes...can't wait to get back!

Thank you for all your hard work here- I'm actually seeing some good deer populations already and the baby piggies are holding their numbers. My really bad dogs are not hanging on the calves anymore. Now they're hanging around the dead pit. Actually, they're hanging around IN the dead pit. Thank you, we're getting the wildlife back in balance.

It's one of the very best feelings in the whole wide world to read a happy hunter's story. Although I am blessed to be able to be part of it sometimes, it makes no difference to me if it happens here or somewhere else, it's all great. Keep those great hunting stories coming...I threw all my novels away.
