KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City region's fur trading and pioneer past will be celebrated at the second annual Fall Rendezvous on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24, at the Missouri Department of Conservation's (MDC) Lake City Shooting Range in northeast Jackson County. The event is hosted by MDC in partnership with the Missouri Offhand Association.
Fur trappers and traders were active in western Missouri in the late 1700s and early 1800s, and Native Americans traded furs, hides and game for guns and goods.
