Five Good Reasons
to Hunt Turkeys
this Fall

Archery and Shotgun Season
Now Open through December 31.

If you're not hunting turkey this fall, you could be missing out on Nebraska's best-kept hunting secret.

Here's five good reasons why:

You can take up to four turkeys. Bonus tags are offered on each of the two permits that a hunter can purchase in the fall. So have extra fun while you fill your freezer!

You can take any sex or age bird. There's no need to look for a beard or wait for a tom, you can harvest the best looking bird you see.

The fall permit is good for archery and shotgun - your choice! This year you can use either weapon to fill your permit, without having to specify it ahead of time.

Hunting is allowed during the rifle deer season. For the first time, turkey hunters won't have to sit on the sidelines during the rifle deer season. For safety, those hunting turkey are required to wear 400 inches of hunter orange when hunting during the firearm deer season.

There's no minimum age. Fall is the perfect time to mentor a young hunter. (Hunters under the age of 12, when hunting with a shotgun, must be accompanied by a person 19 or older who has a valid Nebraska hunting permit.)

Best of all, the upcoming holidays will taste that much better with your own bird on the table!
