I got home a few hours ago, no luck on shooting a pig this time. I saw everything FHL has to offer i think, i saw about 10-15 pigs in my first 15 min saturday morning too bad they were in a restricted zone, saw some elk, deer doe's and bucks, coyotes, bobcats, turkeys, lots of quail, some snakes..... It was a great weekend!

Its always like that...seeing pigs in an area you can't shoot! What areas did you hunt? Was in 19 and saw some fresh tracks going to 15 but don't have a muzzleloader so couldn't hunt that area.

I hunted 19 early saturday and didnt see anything fresh, i then switched to 13B again nothing fresh, then went to 15 hicked for about 4 hours before i was to tired to continue. Never saw pig sign. Went back to 15 in the morning and nothing again went back to 13B and found some tracks laid saturday night but no luck lost the trail in the hard dirt and they were already headed into another restricted area. I burned a lot of boot rubber and i am really feeling it today but i had a blast as all ways. Hopefully i can make it back out in a few weeks and ill get lucky.

I only saw one vehicle in 19 while I was there Sat..a white ford truck. I was in a silver chevy truck. Yea need to get out before July since I still have pig tags burning in my pocket. Good Luck!

No sign? Are you guys hunting TA-19 the right way? Drive up along the ridge that is north/east of the swampy area called General's. Sit up there and wait for the pigs to come out.

I hiked all around General's and even sat on it in the early morning, no sign and nothing moving except the bullfrogs. Saw a nice sized bobcat there though.

Man I miss pig hunting down in CA. There's a few pigs up here in Central Oregon, but literally just a few. Good luck in your future endeavors.

johndoe, every pig that my son or I shot in that place has been before the sun peeked up over the horizon. What we do is get out there early, then sit down and let things settle down again. During the day there is too much commotion with hunters walking around and with 4X4 traffic on the roads. There really isn't any other choice other than be quiet and wait them out.

Yea i wish we could have gotten out there before sun rise, we set the alarm for 0500 and the dang sun was already up. We got into 19 at around 0545, took us awhile to find Generals. Ill be back there in a few weeks and ill be up WAY before sun rise!

If you are going to jump pigs at a reservoir it will be after they have spent the night wallowing, or late in the evening when they return. Wish I could hunt this weekend, but my permit won't kick in until 4th of July weekend. Plus, that Saturday is the 30th, so the new permit will not be in effect yet. With the 4th of July falling in Wednesday there is chance that it will be open all week for hunting? Any word?
