Would like a little info on the FHL Area 29 North end of lake. Is it brush or Oak Savanna? If it's one of the choices, as last week, I'm thinking carrying a rifled shotgun with Sabot loads.

This area is mainly river bottom surrounded by rolling hills or canyons with oak Savannah and chaparral. And I believe it is for bow, shotgun or muzzleloader. Check the info at the top where jesse has links for hunting on FHL and Camp Roberts.

Thank you, I see the walk in and short range weapon restrictions posted further down this forum, because of Lake, boats fishermen, homes nearby etc.

I Just want to confirm with the previous post concernig weapons, Archery,Shotgun & muzzleloader. The 2nd gate which is the west side will be the most hit by hunters. Since this is a long weekend and the areas will be filled by alot of hunters. You get should get there as early as permitted withing legal time and get to a point where you can watch any activity. Look for funneling areas around active game trails for game and sit. There will be alot people out there this weekend you be able sit and let them push things around for you.

Considering the minimal amount of quality areas open you should try and check in as soon as the desk opens. because if you come on saturday morning you are just gonna get left overs by the amount of hunters wanting to hunt since its been closed for the last few weekends or so.
Good luck and be SAFE. Hope to you post your results next week.
