I mentioned this in the gun reg policy thread. Here is a screenshot of what I found yesterday:

Yep.

I'd actually like to get a hold of the plans to see where on the base these facilities will be.

Regardless, this can only mean in the next couple of years the hunting will be severely limited compared to the past - if there is any allowed at all.

If you do get ahold of the plans please share. Best case scenario a Job of that magnitude takes 2 to 3 years to get permits and everything rolling. Just because its up for bid doesn't always mean it will go through. I've seen jobs come up for bid every year for the 4 years and never go through. Hopefully that's the case!

Camp bob just did a project to rehab old barracks and it was all prevailing wage work, new shine on some old buildings.

Any new details on this?

I just checked the site. Last update was 3/28/13, status changed to "Post Bid Results Pending".

For a job of that size, I imagine the process of verifying scopes will take a while. The list of bidders is so long that some protests wouldn't surprise me at all. It might be several months before they even get to actual planning.

Plans and specs are done, only way to go out to bid. A job that size will most likely have a protest or two to the bid award but sooner or later a notice to proceed will be given. Base is big, hope some hunting will be allowed in areas not close to construction site.

It's listed as a Design/Build. I'm ASSuming they have 50% drawings at best. It's becoming more common on the government jobs and its a real pain in the ass. You end up with lots of protests, and once everybody has seen each others hands it goes out for re-bid and the original low guy gets burned. I've lost several jobs that way.

The increased activity during construction will definitely hurt the hunting, and it's obvious the base will become very active. Add in all the construction workers that will all discover hunting there, and the hunters will increase as the available areas if any shrink. I don't see any scenario where this isn't going to screw us.
