FHL cow hunt-Rollcall

Anybody else gonna be at the FHL cow hunt on the 20th? I'll be up on the 19th for the orientation and plan on hitting it hard Saturday morning. Going solo this year, that should be fun!:smiley_yahoo:

I drew on the military side, they usually have six they pick on a priority list (active duty first and then the rest of us) and two totally random, I drew on random.

Kinda like winning the lotto! Its starting to look like I'll be the only JHO'er on the cow hunt.

Congradulations on your tag. I gather its akin to an act of God to obtain a civvie elk tag. I have 6 points I hope to get a tag before i die we shall see.

Lefty be patient. There was a guy at the October hunt who said he had the minimum points and got a tag. Not real sure how that works. It is a fun hunt though. I was there in October.

Lefty, hang in there. It was an act of god as far as I was concerned.

Things that I did to slant the odds in my favor: put in for the hunts over xmas and thanksgiving. Less people are willing to give up the holidays for that and.... go for a cow tag. Somehow, thats seen as less sexy. Personally, I think the cows are harder, lots more eyes looking around.

Remember, they give out 350 tags and 26,000 people put in for 'em, so really, its a matter of time.

Also might consider AZ, they give out tons of tags and the odds of drawing there are better than CA.
