Neither, the FHL Police have been overly zealous for the past month, which makes jumping the fence, or parking down by Agile a high risk for being caught. Remember, the authorized entry point for 13 E is at the Historic Tidbail Store, and that is about a 3 mile hike each way to the good hunting spot that you are thinking of. The reason that 7 was so great last time is because it had rained all night making the jeep roads impassable. It has been dry lately, so we can count on 7 going back to being the usual off road driving park again. Until the police fade back into the woodwork again, I recommend strict adherence to the rules. When I reentered through the main gate to turn in my hunting permit last Saturday, I had to uncase my weapon to show them that it was unloaded. During all previous Saturday at 11 when I returned to my vehicle the police were there checking the permits displayed in the windshields. The officers are friendly, so we talk about hunting. I would suggest hunting out back where you can have some peace and quiet.

The pigs will be partying in 10/13W. They'll be drinking beers and laughing at all the hunters that are scurrying the hills in 13E and 7..........hehe.

The game are holding up in the Impact Areas

so where do ya think the game be holding up at?

Well, I live in Dublin, and this Saturday we are having our Saint Patrick Day Parade. There is no way that I can hunt, because it belongs to the Irish. I have hunted at Liggett since 68, so my memories of past success will fill the void while hunting. A new hunter doesn't have that, so conditions will look quite a bit different to him. If I were to hunt this Saturday, I would probably weaken and take TA-7, that is if only a few hunters are in line when I got there. I know of a few places where I could park, walk in, and avoid the four wheel drive crowd. Otherwise, I would head back to TA-19 where I usually hunt. One area that has consistently been good though the years is TA-29, but those are some wised-up animals. Not to mention the lion tracks, and having to watch my back constantly.

thank you for that info map. my buddy and i are driving up from san diego the following weekend, 25-29, for our first pig hunt, hitting public land before heading to liggett. but 14-15 was the original weekend i had in mind.

from one conversation i had with a FHL staff member, i was told that they dictate the zone you hunt- is that not the case? also- i searched a realtively recent post where you said you had a google earth map of the base- any way i might persuade you to send a file my way?

good luck to those that are going- save some for the next weekend please.

Not sure what you mean by this statement but it sounds like you are advocating "not" following the rules while the police are not present?

Regardless, it should be a great weekend out there, so enjoy this public land and treat it with respect and that way we may share it with our children in the future.

Sure, but I will need an email to attach the file. I only had my email address posted here for a week and my mail box was full of spam. Here it is again: trail_cam (AT) yahoo (DOT) com Some guys want to keep their email confidential, so I uploaded the KML file to the OziUsers Tech Group on Yahoo.

Click on "File" then "Miscellaneous" Here is the link

Keep checking the available hunting areas at the FHL site, because there have been last minute changes. About a month ago I had to drive all the way back home to get my slug gun, because TA-29 was the only area that remained open after the last minute changes. Also, make sure that your paper work is up to date before trying to enter through the main gate.

blacklab,

I am not a advocating anything, I'm just warning the new hunters who deviate slightly from the rules. This would be a good time for you to post exactly those rules concerning entering TA-13E at the Milpitas II street sign on Jolon Road?
