Quick question, when checking in, can you do it on Friday or do you have to wait until Saturday and stand in line. It's been a while since I've been there, so things may have changed.

Well buckfinder apparently you have never been to FHL, most of the areas there fill up, so sometimes you dont have a choice and others are easier to find game in. The walk in areas hold some good areas for people willing to do some work. And they have quotas for the areas but apparently i think it is to many. This is not something that is occuring all of the time i just think it is a coeincidence that it happened to the both of us. I also used the FHL police as a suggesting instead of causing a potentially violent feud. I hope you dont think this only happens hear i have heard and know of it happening in the sierras also. For me i have had many great experiences at FHL but have learned to be cautious around trigger happy people. My suggestion hear is wear blue jeans or blaze orange even in the sierras too, i havent had a problem in getting game out of full camo. when i bowhunt i suit up but otherwise keep it safe

Fool, Where in the world does my post say I've never hunted Liggett?? My hunting partners and I choose to bowhunt F.H.L. and rarely have a problem entering our favorite areas. You should try an area other than 29 for once! You might just enjoy yourself.

Hey dont get bad with me, just a misunderstanding, i thought you meant the popular area as in hunter liggett but you meant just area 29, and for your info i have been going there for ten years and my dad at least twenty some years. So i have been to just about every area on liggett. And where in my post does it say i have only hunted 29?? What is the matter with you people getting worked up over some typed words, we are all hunters so why ridicule one another? Oh and for the seasons i also hunt bow there and your lucky to have 50- 75 people while rifle 200-500 it can get rediculous and for someone like me making a 3 hour drive you get whats left over, just put it this way its not like it used to be where me and dad could drive over and be in 10/13 Sat morning. So hope you understand the situation. NUff said...

Gunner5569,
Imperial China is in the intersection of Broad st. and Marsh st. I think it is somewhat next to/or slightly behind a Wells Fargo???? bank. We ordered the Gourmet add on(which is wonton soup, fried wonton, fried battered shrimp, plain fried rice) then you have to order one regular dish. Since there were 3 of us, we ordered 3 regular dishes. It was deeeelicioussss. Try that Chinese buffet in King City at the mini-mall across from Albertsons????. That is the best Chinese buffet I ever had, bar none. Really excellent. I feel like making a road/day trip just for the meal, which my wife, daughter and I do whenever we go to the Carrizo or FHL to hunt. The hunt is just an excuse to eat. Anyway, it is always an enjoyable trip to go out to the Carrizo, FHL or Camp Roberts. God Bless.

IMHO,
Everyone needs to take a deep breathe and relax. Yes, it has changed, especially for us locals, but most of us take it in stride ...

buckfinder,
"Hey dont get bad with me, just a misunderstanding,"
"just put it this way its not like it used to be where me and dad could drive over and be in 10/13 Sat morning."

This is what I was refering to... not Imperial China.
But, since you brought it up, I might just take you up on that offer...

EasyMoney, I know what you were referring to. Hence, the little smiley face thingy I threw in there. I was just trying to make light of the situation as someone seemed to have their pants in a bunch over a few statements.

Where did i say i never enjoyed myself, my statements were just correcting the misunderstanding, you should refrase your statement about who had the pants in a bunch.

Fool, You sure get fired up easily...oh, to be 19 again. Don't let my comments or anyone else's for that matter, get to you. Good luck hunting.
P.S. Sorry to the originator of this post...got away from your original question.

Yup!!!!! Piggies are enjoying a population increase with all the wet weather we had these past few years. So let us just go out and enjoy the hunt. There will always be other hunters, but with the military bases, access is strictly controlled and pre-registered with your name, address and phone no. So no gang bangers target practicing or drinking in the field. Just regular folks out for a nice hunt. If the piggy gets caught by another group, so be it. Lots of piggies next time. Remember, we can always buy pork chops at Albertsons and come to think of it, it is really a lot cheaper than killing your own pork chops after all the gas bill, military access fees, hunting license fee, piggy DFG tag, restaurant bill etc. Lots of good folks hunting on those military bases really.
The riffraff probably are too gagged up by the military rules. God Bless and hunt more.

Well put...

Yep, there are lots of pigs out there and most of the rifraf tends to avoid contact with military bases at all costs. Strict rules and enforcement...
