So I have been seeing a few posts on FHL not being a good spot to go pig hunt right now. I am wanting to go pig hunt but don't want to drive all the way down if its not worth it. If it is not worth going does anyone else have any suggestions on where to go to. I am coming from the Central Valley Modesto area. I have seen a post from someone that said there are places on the way down to FHL that have pigs but is that private or public land ? Anyway any suggestions or ideas would be helpful.

Thanks
Brian

Thank's for the heads-up about FHL for not a good spot to hunt right now...:noddin-yes::noddin-yes::noddin-yes: I suggest try upper cottonwood much closer to Modesto. or the elusive SD pig and it's also public.

I was at FHL a couple of weeks ago and saw a lot of animals that were not in season but not a single pig. Came across a number of other hunters with the same results. With all of the rain the pigs are not stressed to find food or water so they are not moving much.

Thanks for the heads up Brian, was going to go there this weekend but after reading all this I may try upper cottonwood myself and do some good hiking up in that area. Thanks for reminding me XDHUNTER of that place.

Upper and lower cottonwood is currently closed right now. Only place open there is across the highway at San Luis Reservoir wildlife area. Shotgun and bow only. FYI fellas.

Upper and Lower cottonwood will not open until the start of Archery A Zone Deer season.

That's right, thanks Fredezee. Been busy with home projects so haven't gone anywhere as of late.
