I have a permit, but never hunted FHL, what's the campground like?

Opps, just read fine print on my Hunting permit and it expired with last years hunting license. As they say it will take 10 days to process a new one, looks like I'm behind again as usual.

I am camping and have a buddy coming too. Be there Sat. morning to hunt and will find the camp ground in the afternoon. If I understand correctly there is no need to make a reservation for camping...yes - no???

I am new to JHO and can't wait to meet a few of you this weekend. How many camp sites are there? Is there an area that everyone is going to be camping in? I am thinking maybe a group BBQ on Sat night.

One more thing - Is there anyone camping that can help me or walk me through skining and cleaning a hog if I am lucky enough to get one this weekend? I am brand new to big game and besides a few pictures I have seen on the internet I have never processed one.

Even if I don't get lucky I will probably be hanging around the skinning sheds to watch and get a few tips. Thanks again

The information you are requesting is in another forum "http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=131212"
The camping is pretty primitive. There is a community toilet and hose bibs and that's about it from what I can remember. I've never seen anyone not able to get a spot, even on a busy weekend like this coming weekend. You may also want to check out the Bryson Hesperia Resort (http://www.brysonresort.com/) they are having a JHO rate of $30/night. Call to see if room is still available.

There will be about 7 peeps at our camp site. We'll be in a grey Ford F-250 PS and Warrior trailer. I can't wait. I just hope the rain doesn't make to much of a mess

Depending on what areas open you'll find a Black Silverado with a 4Wheel Camper. Any JHO's are welcome to share campsite and a warm fire.
Also you cannot use dogs to hunt hogs/big game just birds. Bird season is closed

We think MAYBE they can bring their dogs to the campsite, that's why I posted the Phone # for the Rec Dept. , Porkchopper call that number and ask him, his name is Mark Hernandez, he's in charge.
pwahuntn you're right, of course, no dogs in the field.

Weather forecast calls for clear on Saturday,RAIN on Sunday & monday. Bring your two straps and travel with someone that has a winch if not you will get stuck in the muck.

REMEMBER IF IN DOUBT BACK OUT!!!!!!!

The cost for a tow truck to come from KING CITY IS AVERAGING $200
