Excellent!!! I've practicing with my recurve for couple months now, but I still wonder if I can actually put a hog down with my recurve. I have both compound and recurve, but I'm interested more in hunting with my recurve. So, what is the draw weight of your bow?
Nice to hear your story; haven't hear much from you since the last FHL President day hog hunt

99%of the time it's hard for me to stick to a schedule or be in someone else's truck and restricted to where and when I go somewhere when I hunt. I don't mind being in a hunti g camp and them we all go our own way.

My bow specs are:
53# @ 30" I draw 31" so it's 56# at my draw.

Here's a pic this morning at the skinning shed. I like the hanging pics it makes the hogs look bigger:wink:. Its strange take a pic of them on the ground and they look smaller than they are, take one hanging and they look bigger. But it does show more of what he looks like.

Wtpops, do you de-string your bow to let the limbs go free when you are not hunting? my friend recommended me to to that to keep the strength of the bow. Also, I just wonder that do we have to leave the portion of the tag, that attached to the ear of the pig, on the head when trashing the waste, or we have to take that portion back and just throw away the waste?

Sorry forgot to answer your question on this. I use the phone number as most of the time they are late with the web site update. The phone is usually updated by 200 pm thursday but can be later.

I do not un-string my bow. With modern limb materials it is not necessary. In fact most bow failures are do to stringing and un-stringing (improperly). My recurve has been strung sense January of 2005, but for the few times ive been out of state hunting then it is broke down for travel. This is actually the bowyer suggestion for my bow.

I don't know what type of or how old your bow is so i cant say as to your bow.

You attach the tag to the pigs ear or any where else you want. I use the ear because i can roll it up and tie it in the ear and it is safe from being pulled off and lost. Once i have skinned and tossed the hide and head i put the tag in the ice chest with the meat, once i get home and butcher the meat i will keep the tag for a while just in case then toss it later. Thats just how i do it. you would be safe most likely if you tossed the tag once the meat is butchered. But i always carry the tag with the meat.

Now its been a long time sence i have read the regs on this and they do change from time to time you might want to check the regs. Wrighting this has made me want to recheck the regs and so i will.

Congrats on the hunt WTPops, and thanks for always sharing a very good hunt! we were at FHL weekend as well, stuck in GW areas unfortunately I have not taken on Archery yet. Area's 1 and 2 were flooded with folks and so much pressure on everything so not much happening there, wish they would've at least opened a couple of areas for Muzzleloader.
