For any of you who are planning a trip to FHL in the next month, you may want to postpone it. From March 17th to April 17th there will be the largest training exercise of the year for FHL. As i have said before, two of my buddies are ex-marines who now work as private contractors to train the seabees. They are both going up there for the next month to get this group ready to go to Afghanastan. Just a heads up

Thanks for the heads-up. I was planning to go mid April, but I guess that will have to wait.

No problem. As i told K Rad, they are planning training exercises atleast 2 weeks of each month for the rest of the year. So there maybe a couple weekends when it is wide open. But my buddys bring home pics all the time of huge packs of Elk and Hogs. If you are going to go, then just make sure to bring ALL of your toys (ML, Rifle, Bow, Shotgun) because their will be only a select few TA'S open.

Are your buddies by chance with UII? I spent 7 1/2 years of my career with the Seabees in Coronado and we had guys from UII on quite a few of our exercises.

No. They work for linxx global solutions. They train the seabees at Port Hueneme, then go to FHL and Roberts on exercises.
