Went to FHL Saturday for a morning and evening pig hunt. Left home about 3 am. arrived @ 5 am. I ended up getting TA 1, as i didnt have much choices ( TA 4, 17, 18) for the general weapons. I hunted all day and evening and only saw about 11 does 2 bucks and a bobcat. I saw fresh pig tracks only in one section. All the other pig tracks that i saw looked old. As of saturday night when i checked out no pigs had been reported. Slow weekend i guess.

When it's tough sledding like that I try and scout as much as I can. Glass into other areas if you can. Drive the roads that are legal like Jolon and Del Venturi to see if they have any hogs working there. You never know, the next week that area may open up.

17 and 18 are notorious for pigs in the late afternoon. so notorious that when we train up there, we blackball convoy operations during the hours of 4pm to 8pm. I personally have been in an armored hummvee that has hit a small pig and flipped. crazy story dont ask! if you archery hunt, training area 3 is where its at. This is all my humble opinion. pm if you would like some more info.
