I was fortunate enough to go deer hunting in both Colorado (muzzleloader) and Utah (rifle) this year. A friend of mine in Colorado brought me a 6 pt. Elk shed (the one in the right in the picture) for a small mako shark jaw I had sent him last summer.

In the middle of the Utah deer hunt, I was sidehilling this one area late in the morning, and saw some white tines sticking up about 20 yards away. At first I thought it might be a HUGE buck bedded down, but on 2nd look I recognized what it was, a nice 5 point elk shed. What's kinda cool is that now I have a right and a left elk shed, and they almost look like they're from the same critter! Anyway, thought I'd share my first shed find with you guys here..........

I found my first shed about a month ago at a cross country meet I was running in. The starting line was by a woodline so I ran back in the woods to take a quick piss before the race started. While I was pissing I looked to my left and saw a deer shed about 5 yards from me. I was shocked. It had four points, not too bad of a shed. I think it would have been a small eight point. Other than that, I haven't found any other sheds. Our dog at home has brought deer sheds out from the woods by our house. Surprisingly, my dog has found more shed's than I have. I've always said she was worthless but she is good for something...finding sheds!
