We had a fall festival over the weekend and they had fireworks and I tried my had at taking pictures of them for the first time. When setting up in the pitch black I didn't realize I had a tree in my field of view. I quickly discovered that using a 8-10 second shutter like I use doing lightening pictures doesn't work well with fireworks. Anyway here are a few of the better ones (not that they are great). Any tips or suggestions would be great on how to do better next time. The orginals are much better but they did lose some in sizing them down for posting.

Looks like you are off to a nice start. I like to use somewhere in the 3-5 second range myself. I didn't even notice the tree unti you said something. I usually try to focus on the first one, then I can usually leave the AF off after that. Most of the time it works for me.

I still don't see the tree. Is it my monitor?

It's on the left side. The middle picture it's the easyest to see on. More of a outline than anything.

Oh, yeah. Cool. I couldn't find it even looking. Let's hope I see better than that in the woods tomorrow.
