FEATHER RIVER--In a word, outstanding. That is the only way to describe the fishing on the Feather River. It's impossibly crowded around Yuba City, but anyone using basically the right techniques from there down to the mouth, whether sardines, pile worms, minnows, or trolling plugs, is going to catch striped bass. More larger females are showing up, too. There are fresh king salmon at the Outlet, and steelhead in the Low Flow Section. Flows were dropped to 12,000 cfs on Sunday so that may have an effect on the fishing.
