Fishing Report: 01.18.07

CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are fair to good while wading and drifting scattered shell and mud in Nueces Bay on red shad and plum Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish are fair on shrimp and mullet in the deep channels and holes near Pelican Island.

They are starting to come back for the spawn. I cant wait till about march for the "mahogany" snappers at the end of the jetty and the crevalles over by the coast guard shack. Spawning and time of the year really will amaze you on the coast. My buddy Wes got a Spanish Mac in the surf last year that would have been at least an honorable mention in the states record book if he woulda dragged her instead of pulling the hook on the second sandbar.
