FISHING REPORT 1/23/03


Southeastern Lower


Lake Erie: Good for perch at Brest Bay.


Southwestern Lower




Lake Macatawa: Fair to good for perch.

Morrison Lake: Crappie were biting at night.

Lake Lansing: Crappie and bluegill were biting.


Northeastern Lower




Tawas: Walleye were biting.

Hubbard Lake: Fair to good for walleye.

Van Ettan Lake: Good for perch and bluegill.

Grand Lake: Perch and walleye were biting. Bluegill were biting at 3-5 feet.


Northwestern Lower




Hamlin Lake: Good for perch and walleye in lower lake.

Hackert Lake: Crappie were biting at night.

Lake Mitchell: Northern pike were biting in evening.

Lake Leelanau, Long Lake: Walleye and perch were biting.

Green, Duck lakes: Good for smelt.



Upper Peninsula



Munuscong Bay: Fair to good early and late for perch, northern pike and walleye.

Little Bay De Noc: Fair to good for perch near Kipling.
