Fishing The Way I Was Taught to Fish

My Wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary over the weekend. We decided to make a day trip up to the mountains I grew up camping. I even convinced my wife to let me bring my trout pole.

The same mountains my Dad taught me to fish in. He passed away back in 2014. Being up there though I couldn't help but think about all the times I'd fished that water with him. I had been fishing about an hour when I decided to do things his way by retrieving and casting my line withoutfishImage (1).jpg opening the reels bail. Just as I was about to show my Wife how my Dad taught me to fish I felt the faintest tug on the line. Set the hook and fish on.

He wasn't remotely big and was safely returned to the water, but man this little guy sure did help me feel close to my Dad.

Cool Story, thanks for sharing. Love those little signs we get from loved ones that have passed on to fish and hunt in paradise...
