Need the operating voltage/current for typical flash capacitors. Looking at building a slave unit for my camera and need some ideas on charging the capacitor seperately from the camera using it's battery source. Just playing around with the idea as of right now, but would like to at least get  a cap charged so as to go from there.
Any suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated:)

Hi snuffy,
The operating voltage of the secondary side of the flash circuit is typically around 250 to 450 VDC.  The charge / discharge current isn't too high - but I don't have any numbers off-hand.  Capacity is usually around 200 to 450 or more uF.

I've also considered building my own slave flash units - but it's just not worth the effort when basic slave flash units are so cheap.
