Hey Cali-
THanks for the update. Now it makes sense and why I was not ticketed last season.
Do by chance know what they consider a soft case? Does it need to be locked or
can you just have a soft case and close it with the zipper and be fine?

Stef, soft case with zipper. The and stupid thing is they want your achery gear to be in its case also. What their goal is to stop the road hunting. I left Gilroy this morning and got to a camp site then went into the check in station. I found more archery and mzzle loaders area then rifle. I basically wanted to hunt area 3 but it wasn't open. It was so hot my dogs didn't want to drink their water. I said screw it turn around and drove back home. Next year that sergeant major thats making all the changes witll retired hopefully thing will change back.

Strange how things effect different people differently. I carry my bow in a soft case while in my truck. I park get out and take my bow out and start hunting , on foot. Im not saying this is a good rule. I am saying that if i never new about it, I still would not be effected by it.

Dont have the full intel Larry. All i know is the hunter got hospitalize and his vehilcle towed to king city.
Reason...... reaching for his gun while driving:skeered:and fromted the base commander to make the new law.

And to be a little more specific I watched from a distance, the paramedics trying to strap down the hunter before loading him in the ambulance. Incase you all are wondering who this guy is, go take a look at the picture of him and his proud harvest of a big boar posted at the registration window.
