The program begins with a safety presentation Aug. 15 at the nature center. On Aug. 16, participants will be led by naturalists and biologists on a 13-mile float from Trail of Tears State Park to Red Star Access.

Cape Girardeau, Mo -- Although many southeast Missourians enjoy the Mississippi River from the shore on a daily basis, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) wants to ensure Missourians have a chance to experience the river by boat as well. To meet this need, the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center will host "Floatin' on the River" Aug. 15-16.
