For me, it was all about the ability to control shutter/aperture. More so that you can with a p&s. Being able to underexpose or overexpose in certain situations is very helpful. Also being able to control iso to a higher degree.Originally posted by lan-lord@Nov 10 2004, 03:52 AM

The more quality the camera, the more you have to concentrate on the quality of your work. Simply pointing and shooting just isn't good enough any more. You start thinking about all the settings before you shoot, even with a digital.Were there any surprises [good, not so good] when going from the P&S to the DSLR?[/b]
