BigSurArcher,

For your statement to be even remotely plausible, the place would have to have more than 500 deer per 4300 acres.

Another thing... you don't think that a place like that averages a deer for every 8.6 acres??

Well BSA if you think its a good idea to validate what Mr. Sanders is alleging over the supposed "experts" would that be a good thing in this case? If it ends up in court who are they going to believe? (Who do you think Tejon would want the jury to believe?)

For the guys arguing that there could not be that many lions there, and throwing out the number, you have to understand, that's not that many lions ALL AT ONCE. You have to slide that number over a period of 6 years. They don't all exist at once.

That ranch could hold 5 "lions per 20 acres", and that would be totally truthful. Assuming that each year the one occupying that 20 acres was shot, and a new one moved in. See the logic?

Not saying he's right or not, but if you look at it the correct way, it's entirely possible. Actually, if you take it this way:

60+ dead lions over 6 years, so an average of 10 per year. 270,000 acres, divided by 10 per year, means only one lion killed per year for every 27,000 acres......

Well said. I was going to bring up the 6 year period thing next, but I was over it. The bottom line is that I hope the allegations are true, and I hope nobody gets in any trouble for it.

Ok where are all those lions everyone are talking about? I've been roaming CA national forest, wilderness areas, BLM lands, and many other private ranches for the last 30 years. So far I have seen 4 lions with my own eyes. Once in a blue moon I will come across a lion track. And some of those track may have been made by the same lion. 60 lions killed in 6 years on Tejon? I believe it when I see it.

Sad news to hear the hunting gets shutdown.
