Well you learn something everyday. Today you learn about salted shafts. I personally have never added any less than a COMPLETELY FULL shaft of salt. That is to say..when I put my Uni nock bushing in I was compacting the salt. I used regular salt that was powder fine by breaking it us in a blender. It was almost as fine as powdered sugar when I was done. I used these to hunt Africa..which at the time had a minimum arrow weight..sorta like a minimum caliber for the BIG 5..being a .375 H+H. Easton finally made a THICK walled shaft that with added inserts and bushing would bring you within 100gr of that required weight. Africa now has..as I understand...havent been in years...either a Kinetic Energy minimum now instead.
As for using less than a full arrow of salt..I dont see it working because of the shifting weight upon launch...But I cant say it wont work untill Ive tried it myself. RG
