Just thought I'd pass on a couple of photos from this past weekend. One of my best friends has gone deer hunting and hog hunting the past couple years with zero luck. So this weekend I think he used up all his luck for the rest of the year (too bad, we're going to Utah in October....my turn!). Here's a pic of the hog he took, approx. 225 lbs. Bottom tusks are almost 2 1/4" long, point to point (didn't measure along the curve). Beautiful hog, one shot to the lung then exploded the heart. 30-06, boar dropped in his tracks.

Here's a closer shot of the Boar's cutters. The picture wasn't meant to be artistic, but it came out kinda interesting looking, I thought.

Here's a pic of another boar that bit the dust this weekend. The swollen throat is from a .444 slug that went into the throat. Knocked the 175 lb. sow down, but not out. Found her standing still, 50 feet from the shot. Dropped her with a 165 gr. Nosler to the lungs, that was all she wrote. Never saw a throat bloat up like this, thought you guys might want to see what happens sometimes with a throat shot, even from a larger caliber. Definitely not my top choice in kill zones.

Thanks. Private (a friend of ours owns a ranch up there and lets only a couple of his personal friends hunt it....and only for pigs, not for deer or quail darn it). Not too far from Cambria, BTW.........

Congrats!
