Got a camera for Christmas. It broke 30 days later.
Gateway said send it in it will be back in 10 days or less. It has been 3 weeks and no camera. What is worse, is they don't concider me the owner because it was a gift.
The gateway rep was rude to my wife because she is not listed as the owner. Her Mother who gave us the camera is on the reciept, so they have a KMA attitude.
Just don't make the same mistake we did, dont buy a Gateway.

I saw an ad on TV yesterday for a 5+ megapixel camera for either $200 or $300 ... too bad their customer service isn't any good.

As a computer shop owner we hear Gateway horror stories every week. However with that said I feel most all your larger computer companys, Dell, Gateway etc have forgotten what customer service is. I love the stories of being put on hold for hours and then when they get someone they can't understand a dang thing they are saying. While just being a small shop and can't compete on price we offer the advantage of being right here should one of our customers need us. They just bring the computer to our shop. It seems more and more people are willing to pay extra to get a little service. I know in my dealings if I have a problem and a company treats me good, I will consider them again on my next purchase.

When I bought my computer there was a repair facility at the store, but they closed that shop. So now, I have to suffer because they dont want to pay a tech to work at their store.
They sugested to my wife that we buy another one. Oh yea, we need two.

Have been thinking about getting a Gateway dig. camera. My 'puter is a gateway. Had to call tech service twice and was happy with the service. But this was 2 years ago.

I have not been unhappy with online support from Gateway. The beef I have is them closing the local service department and then treating me like a no body because I got the camera as a gift. They forget it is because I bought thier computer that She bought me the camera. Anyway, they called today and they are sending it back.
The camera has been out of service for over half of my granddaughter's life. I can never get those missed pictures back.

Well, finally got it back today. They actually replaced it. Too bad they didn't do thet at the store the day I took it in. I would be a much more satisfied customer, and MUCH more likely to continue buying their products.
