whats cool out here in Florida is u can hunt pigs at night and u don't need a depredation permit and after doing some networking with some golfers and ground maintenance workers who cover a lot of ground around here I was able to find out where the pigs have been spotted and where they have been terrin it up. So as i headed back to a wooded area where they have been seen and as I reached the pond that borders it i found super fresh tracks in the sand and a worn trail heading back into the woods. I wanted to venture in but I didn't have my snake chaps on so that idea was off till another day.
But with excitement I wanted to set my bow up for night time hunting and put my high intensity spot light with a pressure control switch on it.
Now I just have to adjust the spotlight been intensity on my 3d target out back except the freeking mosquito are out of control tonight, but I will get it done and then i can start my night patrol around here once in awhile and hopefully get lucky. Actually I should think about getting night vision goggles or a thermal set up that would be sweet.
Here's how I have my bow set up now for night hunting and with the spotlight on at 30 ft in my house to give u an idea how it lights up an area. The arrow shows u where I have the pressure switch 09.JPG 10.JPG 11.JPG 12.jpg 13.JPG 14.JPG 15.JPG pad located ...... tra

Hey TRA. Have you considered the possibility of squeezing the pressure switch up front causing torque?

Yes, it does causing torque. I have a red dot on my bow and when using pressure switch was always missing the target till i got cable activated switch.

The pressure switch is real sensitive it takes barley any pressure at all to turn it on, I just hooked it up so I will shoot with it this morning and if there is any issues that effect my shooting or the light coming on prematurely I will reposition it.
Thanks for the advice guys, it's always trial and error when u are putting new goodies on your bow, and I will look into to putting a red or green high intensity bulb in it. Or like u siad guy make a cable set up like for a drop away rest so when u draw your bow back it will come on automatically. ...tra

All it takes is flexing one tendon wrong in your hand. Sure you'll get it worked out. Seems like a cool concept, wish we could use that in Cali!

Well i haven't shot for almost three weeks, I just got done shooting a few minutes ago at 20 yrds with the new set up no problem at all.
First I like to mention I have been shooting for 20 yrs so my form is spot on and I know how to properly float the bow in the in the yoke of my hand with out ever putting pressure on the bow grip that would cause torque.
So it works out perfect, here's 20 yard shooting using the pressure switch no problem at all, the pressure plate is super sensitive so u barely even touch it to turn on so no change in my shooting grip ( actually like i said I don't grip but Floate) has no effect on my shooting at all, everything feel normal as usual when shooting. So I should be good to go......tra
