Gigged A Huge Black Armored Catfish ( Pleco )Today!....Pic's

Hit my little dam spot this morning and gigged my largest (pleco) Black Armored Catfish to date for me it was 22 in. Long and almist 5 in. Wide and a few pounds for sure. I gigged 2 others but they shook free of my pole barbs trying to lift them out the water, they are heavy at that size. Had a big black bass on a swimbait but he shook off just as I had it at the surface. Then this very large resident gator there wanted my fish and I think a piece of me, I am sure it was hoping I fell in the water.
The swamp attached to this dam is a creepy setting for sure, I sure there's a swamp creature in there lurking too....lol....tra

So I've caught those plecos before by hand at a local pond, but I have to know, can you actually eat them?

If the fish get any bigger, you're going to need to get one of those "selfie poles" so both you and the fish can fit in the picture.

Didn't u spear those last yr and I said they armored blk catfish and u told me no They were sucker alien fish.....lol. There spreading in FL bad.....don't they want all those taken out of waters???? Any bounty on them??

This morning I went gigging at my spot and the water was flowing fast and high from all the rain lately the gar were nowhere in sight and the black bass were not intrested in hitting either then as I was standing above the side of the dam out pops a huge Black Armored Catfish moving fast 3 ft under the water and I had to react fast and chuck my gigg pole down at it and barley spiked it with one barb. Got it up on top without loosing it. Thank god for great polorerized glasses? was the exact size 22 in. as the one posted in the above post my seconed huge one so far to date. I still think these PLECOS are the coolest looking fish .....tra

Yeh u can eat them but I would probably need a saw zaw to cut it and gut it....lol
No u can't gig gators, if I did that then the Cecil the Lion lovers would focus their attention on me next....lol....tra
