You are good to go with 150 Noslers. I have shot all the above game with a 7x57 and 160 partitions-pretty much the same thing. Take the rifle you're used to shooting.
45-70, thanks for the private message. I'd have taken it more seriously if you weren't such a sarcastic smartass. Whether you like it or not, the 45-70 is NOT a great dangerous game caliber. It might go lengthwise through a buffalo with solids....MIGHT. Not likely at all, in fact it flat won't happen with anything other than a solid, because most good choices for dangerous game calibers can't either.
You are deluding yourself to think that a 45-70 is a good DG caliber. It is an adequate caliber, but just adequate. It'll work most of the time for a sport hunter, but no PH in his right mind would ever consider it. I've done a ton of reading on african hunting, and talked to many PHs, and I've never heard of a single one who uses the 45-70. They shoot more appropriate calibers like the .375, .404, .416, .458 win and lott, .470 NE and bigger still. They want calibers that'll stop a dangerous animal in their tracks, and the 45-70 is not an ideal choice for that task.
Whether you like it or not. No need to reply privately, you can display your sarcasm right here for all to see.
