After stifling heat and humidity through the first part of the summer there was finally relief as Tropical Strom Emilia passed within 100 miles of the southern tip of Baja and brought with it much needed rainfall, there were varied reports from different locations receiving anywhere from 2 to 5 inches of rain. the storm bought some wind gusts up to thirty miles per hour, but not much damage was reported besides minor flooding. The first band of bad weather arrived mid-day on Sunday and lasted on and off through Tuesday. Sportfishing fleets were basically shut down until Wednesday and La Playita panga operations did not resume charters until Thursday. The San Jose del Cabo arroyo washed out the road to La Playita in a couple of places but with all the machinery now available with the marina project they were able to make repairs within about 12 hours.
